OK... so I'm going to try to be really good and keep a blog of our Korea adventures. We have been here just about a month and it's already been an adventure! Getting here was an adventure in itself! Talk about the longest plane ride EVER! None of us slept much so by the time we landed we were beyond exhausted. Then we got to stand in a long line at customs before heading over to where the bus to Yongsan would pick us up. After a 30 min wait and an hour bus ride we finally made it to our hotel. Luckily it was about 9pm in Seoul so we just crashed! I thought I knew before what jet lag was. I didn't. It took about a week before we started to feel alive again. The first couple of weeks here were spent doing military in-processing stuff and trying to find an apartment. Luckily we found an apartment pretty fast. We are on the 18th floor of a skyrise!! I try not to think about it too much. So far we are enjoying it here. There is so much to do, the shopping is great and don't even get me started on the food!! There are so many different kinds of food here and so far all the places we have eaten have been awesome! Well, except maybe the burger place we ate at, but we won't talk about that. I'm going to have to workout extra hard here! The boys aren't too keen on the food. They aren't quite as adventurous in that area as Justin and I are. Since we've been here we've been able to get out and check out the city a bit. We are becoming quite good at the subway system. Pushing and shoving is completely acceptable here and can be a necessary to get on and off the subway! Here are a few pics from the past few weeks here.
At Incheon Airport waiting in line at customs. While I was taking this picture Karson askes me, "Why the heck do you want to remember this?!" For that reason alone I am posting this picture.
This is the view from our apartment building. Don't look down!!
Over the Christmas break we went to a place called Namsangol Hanok Village. The Village is made up of houses rebuilt to replicate the traditional houses of the Joseon Dynasty. It was kind of a walk into the past.
It's amazing what they can do with ice!!
Found this guy at Dongdaemun History Culteral Park. I guess that's one way to recycle! :)
We are excited to be here and I'm excited to share some of our adventures with you on my awesome blog!! Haha! Truth...I need some serious blogging help! 1 month down...35 to go!!
